Changing the front spindles on a 1951 Dodge?
How do I change the original front spindles on my ‘51 dodge to a ford or chevy?
It has a solid front axel
Don’t know if they will interchange unless they are machined. You can try and measure. Does the 51 Dodge have a single axle or independent suspension? If you go into E-bay and look at hot rod parts there are manufacturers that sell the whole Assembly.This will be a major job. You have to remove the complete suspension on the 51 D and leave the bare frame. This unite will fit right up under the frame and then needs to be welded with a Mig. Another way is to see if you can locate wheel adapters that will convert it to chevy. or ford. On Dodge P/U wheels Should be the same as Ford P/Us, Toyota’s P/U, and Jeeps with the wide lug pattern.
