Accidently put Super Gas in rental car instead of Diesel?
I realized I grabbed the wrong nozel and stopped at 20 liters. I left my car at the Gas/Service Station and they drained the tank. Now that I have filled it up with Diesel, the gas gauge only registers 1/2 full. Does anyone have a solution or a reason why any of the above may have affected the gas gauge? This is a brand new car.
I cannot imagine why this would affect the fuel level sender, unless they bumped the float when siphoning it out… As long as you did drain out the gasoline, and filled it back up with diesel without driving… you should be ok.
I’d say take it back to the rental place, and tell them the gauge stopped working right… and DO NOT mention the gasoline issue.
