What would hapeen to a crop (say corn?) if nothing was done to it to help it grow or harvest?
If you have a productive crop and suddenly stop watering, weeding, spraying pesticide, etc what would happen to it? My guess is that weeds would grow around and in-between plants so that you would lose the ‘rows’ that we traditionally see. If there was no harvest would it seed and spread wildly? Would it still grow close together or spread further and further away. Would there even be any of the same crop left after say 10 years or so? Any input would be great! =)
Weeds are really the only super “crop”. Corn could survive if it was already tall, but it would deffinatly be a poor harvest with all the worms and what not. Using any kind of a chemical is pretty necessary these days. Even those “organic” crops use a type of chemical to be treated with. As far as spreading out and lasting ten years, I’m not so sure that would happen that often if at all. Most crops have a life span and they really don’t spread like weeds do.
