John Deere Lawn Tractor 125 wont turn over…any suggestions?
When I turn the key the starter will turn the engine 1/4″. So power is getting to the starter. It has a new battery, new oil & filter, new air fliter, new spark plugs. I am stumped.
My guess would be that it probably needs a starter. But first, try jump starting the tractor using jumper cables to your pickup truck. If it now starts, then your new battery is either discharged or it’s defective. Give it a good charge, & if that doesn’t help; take it back to where you bought it & exchange it for a good one.
If it doesn’t crank over with a jump, replace the starter. It either has a bad armature or worn out brushes.
